"The Bike"

"The Bike"
Here's a photo of my wheels (and also Hobie the wonder dog who just wants to be part of the blog). If you think biking is easy, strap 75 lbs of dead weight to the back and try it again!

Week 2: Expect the unexpected

Week two was MUCH easier than week one - probably because I used my car twice and took advantage of some very generous friends (thanks Brandy and Lindsay!).

Here's my list for week two:
  • The kids threw a tantrum when we were about to take the car instead of the bike.
  • Corey says, "I'm so glad you know when to come in out of the rain!" Hmm, I guess I do!
  • I'm getting better at accepting help and am even asking for it sometimes.
  • After being out in the rain this week the kids are trying to convince Grandma to play in the rain - it's just a little water and we don't have to be stuck inside!
  • We watched two excavators, one front-end loader and one buldozer IN ACTION!
  • A woman who lives near the "deer path" mowed it and then stopped me to ask if it's wide enough for the bike trailer. We're now friends. :)
  • I feel a stronger sense of community and a greater connection to others.
  • I'm super-very excited about an adventure on the bus with LOTS of other people planned for next week!
  • After traveling through the rain, traveling on a nice day seems almost easy!
A couple of not so great ones. . .
  • I still feel a lot of guilt about accepting help - ugh!
  • Hobie is not getting better and will likely need the car again before the month is out.
Some days are good, some days are not-so-good, but here I am at the end of two weeks thinking, "Half way all ready?"

  1. i tend to think that most people feel really good about being helpful. you should lay that guilt to rest!
